Proposal to bring back the old SETI@Home spirit
We - the undersigning - and very likely most SETI old timers with us - are totally
lacking information about the scientific background and progress that you used to
provide when the SETI@home project was fresh and not so worn out as it is now.
We haven't found anything yet so it's time to refresh the spirit of searching outerspace
intelligent signals.
We are missing the candidate lists that have been more exciting than fighting for credits.
We are missing the newsletter with stories of success and future plans. We are missing the
maps where the best candidates are plottet ...
Using SETI for the single purpose to populate BOINC doesn't make sense. SETI needs to have
a web site with SETI related information, with results of the search, not with TFlops and
leaderships in first place.
We have accepted the new BOINC platform but you took away more than just the old classic
client, you broke the joint between science and crunchers. Please reinstall the link by
letting us take part in the SETI science instead of just beeing part of the machinery that
produces computing power.
